Adele Durfey

Director of Sustainability

Adele comes from a farming background in the Palouse area of Washington State. She was one of the original members of the group Justin recruited to Ukraine in 2008.  From 2010-2012 Adele was the Director of Purchasing, and in 2010 she added the responsibility of crop sales as the Commercial Director of Agrokultura Ukraine.  Adele was responsible for all contract negotiations, ~$25M of yearly input purchases and concurrently, was responsible for all crops sales across the company’s 135,000 acres.  During this time, she oversaw a team of 10 to streamline input needs and logistics for input procurement and shipping of end products. 

After leaving Ukraine in 2014, Adele spent time with Nelson Irrigation as their Eastern European Territory Representative, covering the countries of Ukraine, Russia, Hungary, Moldova, Serbia, Romania, as well as spending time in France and Italy. Adele also worked at Sustainable Idaho, who was contracted by The Nature Conservancy on consulting basis. In this role, Adele spent time advising TNC on how to guide growers towards practices that would improve soil quality and conservative water management practices through Southern Idaho. Adele joins this team with excitement and a passion for furthering sustainable farming systems. She holds a Bachelor of Science from WSU in Agricultural & Food Systems: Agricultural Technology & Production Management and a Bachelor of Administration & Economic Sciences.
